Privacy Policy

The short version

InspectorToolbox has no accounts, no server-side storage, and no analytics on tool usage. Everything you enter — checklist runs, tracked equipment, provider entries — is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We cannot read it, and clearing your browser data removes it.

What we store

  • Checklist runs — which items you marked pass or fail, and run notes.
  • Tracked equipment — names, types, jurisdictions, and last-inspected dates.
  • Provider entries — the service providers you add yourself.

None of this leaves your device. There is no upload path in the application.

External links

The Directory page links to official third-party websites (osha.gov, nfpa.org, ansi.org, cpsc.gov). Following those links is subject to those sites' own policies; the links open in a new tab and this site receives no data back from them.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no third-party trackers. Site traffic may be measured with a cookieless, privacy-respecting analytics service that records aggregate page views only.

Exporting your data

Each tool that stores data locally offers an Export (JSON)button — checklists run history on the Checklists page, tracked equipment on the Reminders page, and your provider book on the Directory page. The export downloads a single JSON file to your device; nothing is uploaded in the process.

Deleting your data

Delete individual entries with the delete button on each page, or clear the site's local storage via your browser settings to remove everything at once. Deletion is permanent — there is no cloud copy.
