The workplace safety inspection toolbox
Checklists, frequency reminders, duty lookups, official resources, and a fire door gap measurer — everything a walkthrough needs, in one browser tab. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
Five tools, one tab
Six in-house templates: monthly walkthroughs, emergency equipment, fire equipment, housekeeping, incident records, and new-hire orientation — with repeat-finding tracking.
Frequency baselines for 14 asset types — extinguishers, eyewash, AEDs, sprinklers and more — plus an overdue tracker for your own equipment.
22 plain-language summaries of federal and state safety duties, with citation pointers (29 CFR, state plans) — no standard text reproduced.
Official government resources (.gov/.org) plus your own provider book — fire equipment, sprinkler, elevator, backflow and more, stored locally.
Measure door edge, undercut, and pair gaps in inches; get an instant in-band / out-of-band verdict against common NFPA 80 conventions.
Cover walkthroughs, emergency equipment, fire equipment, housekeeping, incident records, and orientations — tick items, mark findings, and the tool flags repeat offenders across runs.
Frequently asked questions
Is InspectorToolbox really free?
Yes. All five tools run in your browser with no account and no paywall. Your data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded.
Does InspectorToolbox replace a licensed inspector or legal advice?
No. It is an informational reference for common inspection practice. Frequency baselines are general summaries — your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and the current editions of applicable codes take precedence.
Where does my checklist and reminder data go?
Nowhere. Runs, tracked assets, and your provider book are saved in your browser's local storage. There is no server, no account, and no tracking.
Are the checklists copies of NFPA or OSHA standards?
No. All checklist items are in-house descriptions of common inspection actions, with citation pointers where relevant. No standard text is reproduced — this keeps the tool free of licensing restrictions.
How does the fire door gap measurer work?
Enter your measurement in inches (decimal or fraction) and pick the gap type. The tool compares it against commonly used installation bands — for example, a 1/16"–3/16" band for door-edge gaps — and tells you whether it is within, below, or above the band, with typical next steps.
